Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood & The Souks
This is “Old Dubai.” Located by the Dubai Creek, this area features wind-tower architecture and narrow alleys. A short 1-dirham boat ride (Abra) across the water takes you to the world-famous Gold and Spice Souks.
Best For: Cultural explorers (Foreign) and weekend strollers (Domestic).
Opening Hours: District: 24/7; Museums/Shops: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
Restrictions: * Modesty: Shoulders and knees must be covered when visiting cultural centers.
Photography: Do not take photos of locals (especially women) without verbal permission.
Activities:
Coffee Museum: Sample traditional Emirati and Ethiopian coffee.
Abra Crossing: Ride a traditional wooden boat across the creek for just 1 AED.
Souk Haggling: Negotiate for saffron, perfumes, and gold jewelry.
